Welcome to the NORAH survey!
NORAH is a program developed by the European Commission DG MOVE with technical support from EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) to assess helicopter noise exposure. It allows the calculation of noise levels (SEL, LAmax, and EPNL) on a grid of ground points for a given input helicopter 4D trajectory based on hemispheres of the noise distribution for different helicopter classes and flight trajectory types.
A first prototype of the sotware (NORAH1) was completed in 2017. NLR, SINTEF and ANOTEC Engineering are now working together towards a second version (NORAH2). The work is carried out within the EASA founded 'Environmental Research – Rotorcraft Noise' project. You can find more information about the project
here
.
We would appreciate your opinion and needs as potential user of NORAH2 and, if you have used the first version NORAH1, feedback on your experience with it. The survey will take about 15 minutes and will help us to define the functional requirements for NORAH2. If there is a question you cannot or would prefer not to answer in this survey, you have the possibility to skip it and continue with the next question.
